A Modern Twist on a Rustic Lakeshore Cottage

This unique two-room beach house is situated approximately 200 yards from the Travis' primary residence, right on the edge of a lake. Spending time on or by the lake is a big part of the Travis' life, whose hobbies include vintage boats and sailing, and the beach house is the center of much lake shore activity for an extended family that includes the couple's grown children, grand children and numerous chocolate labs. At quieter times, the beach house also serves as an idyllic meditation retreat. Although there's no bathroom or kitchen, the beach house features a beautiful wrap around deck. A red Vermont Castings stove keeps the cottage nice and cozy in the winter, when the Travis' enjoy spending time relaxing surrounded by the beauty of the wood paneling.

Carol and Mack tend to stay in the 20X30-room downstairs which has a nice perspective of the lake. This room is very cozy with a comfortable couch and chair. It has lots of windows that provide lots of light, and features a wrought iron railing with stained glass accents on the balcony above. Carol likes the natural look, feel and smell of the wood. Mack sees the beach house as his meditation retreat.
