Timber Frame Home Showcase
A Mountain Home Where Nature Provides an Ever-Changing View

The Parrishes built their home near Stowe, Vermont, on a hill overlooking a meadow with Mt. Mansfield, the highest peak in Vermont, in the distance. All of the rooms are oriented to take full advantage of this magnificent view and the southwestern exposure. This custom home falls under the style of "Mountain Homes" having an Adirondack feel with craftsman influences. The main floor has everything Bob and Wendy need including the laundry, an office and the master suite. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a shared bath for the Parrish's grown daughters. The walk-out lower level contains a recreation room, fourth bedroom, Bob's office, a kitchenette, and a full bath.

The home is a perfect backdrop for the couple's extensive collection of vintage American pottery, artwork and hand-colored photos of scenes around Stowe where Wendy's family has lived for six generations.

What the Owners Say About Woodhouse

  • After having visited several booths for both log and timber frame homes at the various shows, Woodhouse® was where all the questions got answered. Steve Keller, owner and founder of Woodhouse®, understood right away what we were looking for and became excited to help us achieve our goals.
  • In a time when energy efficiency is more than a luxury, it is a necessity, sister company to Woodhouse®, Murus, provides the very best in structural insulated panels (SIPs). The Loewen windows are among the very best made and the time-honored method of timber frame construction completes the fine structure. With an architect on staff at Woodhouse®, the company is a full service company.
  • Designing and building a dream home is not for everyone, but Woodhouse® made the process so much fun, we wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
  • - Bob & Wendy Parrish, Woodhouse® Home Owners

"Speaking both as a customer and now as an employee, there is no company I know of that combines the passion, technology, and beauty of designing and building a timber frame home the way that Woodhouse® does."

— Bob Parrish
Woodhouse® Home Owner
Wendy spends almost all her time in the large open kitchen with its large island and two bar stools. When there's company, the guests often gather there as well, or they're watching a sporting event on the TV in the living room, just around corner but open to the kitchen. No one is ever out of earshot or unable to comment on the goings on. She also has an office off the kitchen area with that fabulous view. Bob spends most of his time in his basement office now working for Woodhouse® but when he's not working, well, he's always working...
