Jeff Baker

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Jeff is the Shepherd of Sales at Woodhouse. With over 35 years of experience creating amazing timber framed structures, shielded by structural insulated panels, he says that he still looks forward to every new day at work. His love of building goes back several generations. He credits his interest in helping others and the drive toward constant improvement, to his incredible parents.
Jeff’s Timeline
1977: First timber frame….attempt at building with heavy timbers.
1978: Introduced to structural insulated panels….and have yet to find anything better.
1986 and 1988: Son, Ben (Metal Artisan-Brooklyn NY) and Daughter, Kate (Registered Nurse-Rochester NY)
If Jeff isn’t in the office, he can be found in his moving offices (truck and plane) or in the mountains with his dog Coz, volunteering as a ski patroller.
Currently loving every day at Woodhouse®.

 

 

 

Todd Davey

PROJECT COORDINATION MANAGER

Todd has a diverse background that seems custom tailored to fit his current position at Woodhouse®. He has 18 years experience in the automotive industry where he spent the later years managing the Service Department. Customer service being a priority at all times. Looking for a change, he stepped out to become self employed as a general contractor in the local residential market. He often complimented his projects by hand crafting custom furniture for his clients, a passion that he has pursued for the last 20 years. His diverse background, attention to detail, and unparalleled organization skills makes him a perfect fit for the Purchasing Manager position. He is responsible for procuring all materials, maintaining inventory, coordinating deliveries and research of new materials.

While not at Woodhouse®, Todd enjoys spending time with his two young daughters Abby and Alison. When the time allows, he fabricates furniture for their home.

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Chris grew up in the Mansfield Area on a large dairy farm.  He received his degree from Penn State with taking courses at both Penn State and Mansfield University.  He also has over 20 years of experience in business and accounting fields.  He worked at and eventually ran two family businesses while attending college.  He then designed the inventory control system at a local retail chain of convenient stores.  From there he worked as the purchasing manager and accounting associate at Elmira Savings Bank.  Looking to work closer to home he helped open the New Tractor Supply in Mansfield as the Assistant Store Manager which ended up being the #1 new store in the company in 2010.  Seeing an opportunity to get back into the accounting field he worked the last 5 years as the assistant controller and eventually controller in the Nature Gas Industry.  He has also worked as an electrician and was the general contractor for his father’s Cedar Log Home.

When not at woodhouse he helps run the family yak farm which is the largest east of the Mississippi.  Chris is an avid outdoorsman and loves to hunt, fish, and take hikes.  He also likes to travel and has hunted all over North America with his family.  Chris also spends as much time as possible with his 4 children Zackary, Brooke, Kristina, and Daniel at sporting event and boy scouts.  He is very active as a coach and former Boy Scout leader, and assists his wife Maryann with keeping the stat of her local Varsity Girl soccer program in Mansfield.

WESTERN REGIONAL PROJECT MANAGER

Chris began timber framing shortly after finishing University at U.W. Wisconsin and having spent time working and studying amongst ancient timber frames in Germany and England. Chris has been a timber framer, foreman, carpenter, general contractor, designer, and timber frame and SIP raising boss. The consistent theme has always been his love for timber framing.

“I am extremely pleased to join the Woodhouse team” Chris says. “In many ways it’s the culmination of my professional life. My passion is bringing my 30 years of experience to bear for our clients and associates. Woodhouse offers the perfect mix of products, process and people: together we pave the way for the most rewarding, successful timber frame homebuilding experience.”

When Chris isn’t working with our clients you can usually find him on the water, racing and cruising sailboats with his family and friends near his home in the Pacific Northwest.

Don Downs

SOUTHEASTERN REGIONAL PROJECT MANAGER

NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, MS, TN, AR, LA

Don manages Woodhouse® projects in the Southeast, both directly and through our Independent Builder Dealer network. Don has a lifelong passion for everything about houses, with a special interest in both traditional and contemporary design. His introduction to the craft of timber framing, back in 1997,  involved hand-cutting timbers and doing frame and structural insulated panel installations at jobsites. This was a natural outgrowth of his earlier experience as a historic restoration carpenter, remodeler, and woodworker. He particularly loved the challenge of applying trigonometry to the layout of intricate timber joints, but was soon drawn to the project management side of the business.  Although he still enjoys the occasional opportunity to use his framing mallet and chisels, he loves being involved with projects from start to finish. Don has a dedication to exceptional customer service, and strives to help each client realize their vision for their project.

A native southerner, Don recently returned to his home state of North Carolina after several years in the Great Lakes region.  Outside of work, Don enjoys listening to acoustic music and playing his guitar, reading both fiction and non-fiction, working on projects around his home, and learning about cars and – big surprise! – houses.

Deborah Farr

OFFICE MANAGER

Debbie has a background in retail sales, operating a chain of convenience stores for over 13 years. Debbie joined Woodhouse® in 2004 and acts as the Office Manager of the company. She enjoys being the voice of Woodhouse® and talking with new customers about their dreams of timber framing.

Debbie enjoys spending time with her friends & family, outdoor activities such as horseback riding, kayaking, camping or just sitting down and reading a Danielle Steel novel. Debbie’s personality, dedication, and organizational skills play a huge role in the day-to-day operations at Woodhouse®.

 

 

 

Ray Lefebvre

DIRECTOR OF DESIGN

Ray found his interest in architecture in a high school drafting class. After pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture degree from University of Illinois at Chicago Circle from 1987-1992, he worked in various small firms focusing on residential and historical renovations in and around Chicago. After a five year stint at a large commercial firm, he decided to get back to basics and focus on his first true passion: American houses. “Woodhouse® is a perfect fit for me to really put my creative abilities to use,” says Ray. We are excited for what Ray has to offer future clients of Woodhouse®.

 

 

Todd Mahosky

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Todd began working at Woodhouse® in 1999 after graduating from Penn State where he received a BS in both physics and civil engineering. He originally started as a draftsman while still working in the coal mine that funded his college tuition.

Originally, Todd’s mindset was that his time at Woodhouse® would only be temporary until he could decide on the first real step of his career path. Since then Todd has worked in several different areas of Woodhouse® including estimating, purchasing, and for 7 years as the leader of the entire design team. Todd’s temporary intentions soon changed as he dove into the challenges and was adopted by the Woodhouse® family. His current focus is to improve the manufacturing process and coordinate our deliveries throughout all aspects of the company as the operations manager. Outside of Woodhouse® Todd likes to spend time with his wife Sarah, and his family and friends. He loves the outdoors and is a dedicated archery hunter.

Brian started his career in the construction business at a young age, helping in the family’s lumber yard in Adrian, Michigan. Through the many years, the craftsmanship of timber frame and SIP construction has been a consistent interest and focus.

When Brian isn’t traveling the Midwestern states, helping our clients and our builder partners, he spends much of his time with his wife and his son enjoying the outdoors. Brian and his family give back to their community through their involvement in sports and school activities.

We are thrilled that Brian has brought his passion to the team at Woodhouse. We know you’ll enjoy getting to know him as he helps you through the adventure of building.

Bob McNamara and Jeff Baker manage projects in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.  Bob has spent most of his life in Western and Central New York where he and his wife live in the Timber framed home they built 29 years ago.

An engineer by education, he spent many years in corporate life managing product development and production.  A desire to get away from the office life, Bob spent 15 years as an independent sales representative and consulting engineer for manufacturing companies.

In addition to his own home, Bob has helped friends with the building of their timber frame homes, designing and completing electrical and plumbing systems and swinging a hammer framing interior walls.

When not travelling to meet with customers and builders, Bob is likely in the mountains of New York or New England skiing, hiking or kayaking or visiting one of his sons in the mountains of the West.

After studies in Architecture, Art, and Sociology (Boston University), Stewart Elliott returned to his family roots and entered his father’s architectural profession. After a year in the restoration of 18th century timber frame buildings in ME and NH, his construction company began building new residential and commercial structures using this Centuries old Timber Frame system.

Years later, Stewart became a leader in hands on, on-site, workshops throughout the county. In 1978, Stewart’s career continued its evolution when he began project management for new timber and panel homes throughout the country. Stewart later became sales manager for one of the largest timber frame manufacturers in the US.

Stewart authored 3 books on timber framing; The Timber Framing Book (1977), The Timber Frame Plan Book (1978), and The Timber Frame Raising Book (1979).

He has continuously written articles (Fine Homebuilding, Mother Earth News, Whole Earth, and Solar Age), made presentations at conferences, Log and Timber shows, EcoBuild USA, Traditional Building Conference, Timber Frame Business Council, and taught workshops at  the University and Community college level.

He continues to believe that timber frame businesses, including building components businesses (SIPs and ICFs) have the opportunity to lead the construction industry toward sustainability and energy conservation by building elegant and energy efficient homes and commercial structures.

 

Patrick SeamanPatrick Seaman

PRESIDENT & OWNER

After a reasonably successful and fulfilling corporate career that took him all over the globe, Pat and his wife Tracy wished to raise their children in the Finger Lakes region of New York State where he had grown up.  A 30-year acquaintance of Steve Keller, the company’s founder, Pat joined Woodhouse® in 2003 and worked as a regional sales manager in order to see firsthand how the Woodhouse® organization supported its clients. He became an Owner, the President and General Manager in 2004 and subsequently has cheered the entire Woodhouse® team along a path of continuous improvement and aggressive growth.

In 2011 Pat completed the acquisition of Woodhouse® and is now the sole owner. A tour of the homes that Pat builds in the Finger Lakes region of New York is usually part of every clients’ introduction to Woodhouse®. One of these homes is his personal custom Woodhouse where he lives with Tracy and assorted menagerie of children, dogs, cats, and fish. His home is located about one hour north of the Woodhouse® campus.
